Well have just scraped the old glue from the previous owner (i think it was some kind of superglue ) and then I cleaned them with isopropyl alcohol, then i just applied a thin line of glue in middle of the rubber piece that comes down , but not too thick because the glue is white and we don't want to come out on the sides and be visible (see the thickness reference in that image ) In the end just used some normal paper tape like masking tape to hold the pieces together until the glue gets strong. Sounds good. I checked this adhesive on amazon and it's like $80. WTH.

Sounds good! I'm going to order it asap if I can find it online. My passenger side just fell completely.
What did you do to prep the two contact areas?

some awesome info here and very on point with my personal experiences over the years. I have contacted Marco for a new pump motor and will have to do a rebuild on an old pump and try it on my car. my original pump is just fine.
