Hello everybody I am most impressed with this and other m3 forums and they have made for some very interesting reading. I have an issue with my E46 smg adaptions using INPA in that it failed adaption twice at the same point and would like some advice as to how to proceed and what part is the likely cause. The clutch bleeding and actuator bleeding have both completed successfully without error. The adaption then breaks about four minutes in shortly after the first round of 'measuring' gears.. The reverse gear is measured then a message flashes up saying shift path something (it's there for a split second) then the next message is 'opening clutch' and at that point the procedure breaks. The error report shows just 88 failed adaptions with a further note stating "time for selector angle adjustment too long"... What has caused this? Just to answer any initial questions.. The car was on level ground all doors boot bonnet confirmed closed battery being charged throughout from another vehicle and no errors other than above. The car drives great with no apparent faults, changes are quick but smg cog light is on. Hoping somebody can shed some more light on this for me. I have screen dumps of the adaption values if required.
Many Thanks
Geordie

Im going to look over some data I collected sometime this week and see how similar my situation was. I remember failing that test for some reason or another but the car has not had any issue since. I want to see what error I was given. Ill get back to you soon. I also run the adaptations once a year, ill be doing it again soon. . maybe ill film my process this time to teach others what to expect?
